System Information Architect at Skyguide

Eight years ago, Skyguide started on its journey to create a new air traffic management (ATM) system. The legacy system was the result of an ad hoc architecture, which had evolved over many years. It was a rigid and complex infrastructure that no longer addressed Skyguide’s updated strategy and vision. Therefore, a new hybrid target architecture was proposed, consisting of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and non-SOA assets based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) System Wide Information Management (SWIM) concept and infrastructure. Skyguide established ATM SWIM on a new platform to manage Swiss sovereign airspace and seamlessly exchange information with aviation stakeholders.
