Learn how to use redirects on the skyguide.ch website.

Access the “Redirects” tab through the menu on the left.

This function is used to redirect traffic from one URL to another. For instance for an URL that is not anymore existing (deleted page) or an URL that was modified (slug change). You can also use this fonction to create a URL shortener to redirect to a longer URL.

What’s a slug?

A slug is the part of a URL that identifies a particular page on a website in an easy-to-read form. Exemple on this page: skyguide.ch/userguide/using-redirects

How does it work?

01

Slug A

01

The first slug is from the URL on which visitors will come.

Don’t forget to take the domain out, when pasting an URL – only leave the slug. Exemple:

Full URL: skyguide.ch/userguide/

domain: skyguide.ch

Slug: /userguide/

02

Slug B

02

The second slug is from the URL on which visitors will be redirected.

Don’t forget to take the domain out, when pasting an URL – only leave the slug. Exemple:

Full URL: skyguide.ch/userguide/

domain: skyguide.ch

Slug: /userguide/
