Virtual Centre Tranche 2 delivery targets have generated new ways of addressing safety, security and compliance standards

Virtual Centre Tranche 2 (VCT2) success criteria rely on adapted working methods so new technological elements (IT infrastructure, Enterprise Service Bus, service-oriented architecture) can be accommodated alongside the Agile delivery model and the new regulation (EU) 2017/373. These new practices ,in the domains of safety, quality, and compliance should produce the evidence necessary to formally demonstrate compliance to internal processes and meet the expectations of our National Supervisory Authority (NSA).
Among many Agile myths, one asserts that there is no longer any need for documentation. This is a misinterpretation of the statement: “Working software over comprehensive documentation”. The new safety and quality methods show flexibility and allow for incremental development, while still ensuring required evidence production and deadline targets agreed with our NSA.
With VCT2, significant steps have been achieved but the journey continues. Virtual Centre touchdown will continue the work of learning lessons and optimizing this new flexible way of working while interacting intelligently with the National Supervisory Authority.
