Skyguide commits to create an environment in which individual differences are considered a valuable contribution to the whole organisation. Diversity lives through mutual understanding and respect for individuality. It is something we can all contribute to every single day.
In celebration of the International Women’s Day, the diversity team organised a special event where three women came to share their experience of how they succeeded in their professional life with a focus on unconscious bias:
- Nicole Leyre, Chief Finance Officer at Skyguide
- Bonnie Fatio, founder of Inspired Women Lead
- Dr Heather Cairns-Lee, Affiliate Professor of Leadership and Organization IMD and President Business Professional Women Lake Geneva
This event was an opportunity to promote and celebrate diversity and inclusion through their story. Skyguide commits to create and foster a supportive and understanding environment in which all individuals can realise their maximum potential within the company, regardless of who they are and where they come from. We support highly qualified people, while respecting equal opportunities. And we currently place particular emphasis on promoting women’s careers. Through our diversity programme and its “skywomen initiative”, we aim to target women specialists more effectively and to motivate women to take up positions of responsibility. In the past two years, we have been focussing on creating awareness about unconscious bias. We have organised a dedicated training day for female and male colleagues on this particularly important topic. Skyguide is also a partner organisation of the Mentoring programme “Inspired Women Lead” (IWL), Mentoring Women Cross-culturally to lead globally. This world-wide programme is aimed at unleashing the potential of women in their authentic leadership and is a means of encouraging women within our company to take up their role of authentic feminine leader.
